About Trinsic

Trinsic builds infrastructure that enables digital identity to work everywhere. Digital ID systems around the world make onboarding to products and services seamless, yet most companies still rely on clunky ID verification flows involving photographing physical ID cards and selfies.

The reason is simple: the digital identity ecosystem is fragmented, global, and poorly documented—there are hundreds of digital ID schemes worldwide and no single, consolidated view to help people make sense of the landscape. At Trinsic, we’ve built and actively maintain an internal database to understand this landscape and help our employees and customers make better product, partnership, and compliance decisions. This role exists to own and elevate the research that makes that possible.

Role Overview

Location: Remote, global

Time Commitment: 10–20 hours per week

Contract Type: Independent Contractor

Compensation: $20/hr (range between ~$15-25/hr dependent on seniority and geography)

Reporting to: Director of Product Partnerships (Zachary Jones)

As a Partner Research Analyst, you will take ownership of Trinsic’s global digital identity research. You’ll maintain and expand a structured knowledge base of digital ID schemes, ensuring the data is accurate, consistent, and useful across product, sales, partnerships, and compliance.

This role is research-heavy and requires strong reasoning skills, comfort with ambiguity, and attention to detail. Much of the work involves synthesizing incomplete or nuanced information into a system others can rely on.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain and improve Trinsic’s internal database tracking ~300+ digital ID schemes globally

  • Research and update things like digital ID descriptions, adoption metrics, standards supported, app URLs, and more

  • Heavily rely on best-in-class AI tools for research efficiency, while ensuring all outputs are fact-checked, complete, and accurate

  • Ensure consistency across regions despite regulatory and ecosystem nuance

  • Propose and help define new fields to better represent digital ID schemes

  • Internal explainer fields capturing complex relationships between systems like wallets, government databases, and super-apps

  • Ensure high-quality, reliable data by identifying gaps, outdated entries, and inconsistencies and proactively resolving them

  • Track news related to new digital ID launches and pilots globally

  • Regulatory or compliance developments affecting digital ID acceptance (e.g. gaming, age verification)

  • Produce a weekly internal research summary and a clear changelog of updates

Ideal Candidate

  • Have strong research and analytical skills and are comfortable working with incomplete data

  • Reason well about complex systems and can explain nuance clearly

  • Learn new domains quickly and enjoy deep dives into unfamiliar topics

  • Take pride in accuracy, consistency, and follow-through

  • Are internally motivated and comfortable owning an ongoing body of work

  • Are comfortable working with modern SaaS tools and structured datasets (e.g. Airtable)

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with digital identity, authentication, or regulated industries

  • Exposure to compliance, policy, or regulatory analysis

  • Strong written English; additional languages a plus

  • Note: USA timezone is optional for this role, so please apply even if you are based outside of USA timezone (despite what it says in the application form)
