LONDON, 21 October 2026 – Ondato, a compliance technology provider offering an all-in-one platform for identity, risk, and customer journey across IDV/KYC, AML and age verification for regulated businesses, announces a partnership with Trinsic to verify their customers through digital identity. This partnership arrives at a critical time in the EU, as multiple member states roll out EU Digital Identity Wallets under the European Digital Identity (EUDI) mandate. Trinsic will act as Ondato’s infrastructure provider behind the new digital identity capability.
According to eIDAS 2.0 (Regulation (EU) 2024/1183), all 27 EU member countries must offer at least one digital identity wallet to their citizens by the end of 2026. These digital wallets are designed as government-issued or government-recognised mobile apps that allow an individual to prove their identity and voluntarily share verified information about themselves when interacting with regulated businesses. By December 2027, banks, financial institutions and other regulated businesses that require strong user authentication will be required to accept these wallets when requested by users as a way to verify customers.
Ondato is expanding its capabilities now to prepare for this major development in European digital identity. This builds on the national digital identity methods Ondato already supports, such as Smart-ID. EUDI wallet-based verification will become part of Ondato’s larger customer intelligence platform. As with all of Ondato’s verification options, this functionality will feed into risk scoring, continuous fraud monitoring and detection, and optimising the entire customer journey.
Liudas Kanapienis, co-founder and CEO of Ondato, says, “EU digital identity wallets are the biggest change in a generation to how Europeans prove who they are. For many regulated businesses, accepting them won't be optional. With Trinsic, our clients can accept wallets as they launch, on the same platform they already use for verification, risk and monitoring. It's another step in our expansion as the intelligence layer between businesses and their customers, in Europe and beyond.”
Riley Hughes, CEO of Trinsic, says, “As the leading digital ID gateway for identity verification, Trinsic has been preparing for EUDI since the earliest phase of the mandate. We already support national identity authentication services for France, Italy, Denmark, Austria, and other member states. With this partnership, we’re providing the necessary technology backing for Ondato’s customers amidst the most important European digital ID mandate of the decade.”
Ondato’s EUDI wallet acceptance capabilities will live alongside its existing suite of identity verification and KYC methods. Using Ondato, businesses will continue to utilise a robust roster of digital identity verification tools backed by continuous fraud protection, all available on a single comprehensive platform.
