EUDI Wallet
EUDI Wallet readiness in the Netherlands
The Public NL Wallet has reached municipal trials and managed community testing, with broader public availability expected in 2027. DigiD is planned as the high-assurance enrolment method, rather than being the wallet itself. Source code and local setup are public, but access to the managed community beta requires partner approval and certificate-authority key exchange.
The intended system includes a relying-party register, certificate functions and certified private wallets alongside the public wallet. KvK is the proposed register operator, with legislation and operational registration still pending. National certification drafts are being developed, initially focusing on remote-HSM architectures. Current pilot access should not be mistaken for open production onboarding.
