What is DigiLocker?
DigiLocker is India's government-endorsed digital locker for securely storing and sharing documents. Through Trinsic, DigiLocker lets a person log in and share verified Aadhaar attributes with your application.

DigiLocker is available in India. It is an app-based electronic ID that returns verified Aadhaar attributes to the relying party.

What information can you verify with DigiLocker?
Verifying with DigiLocker through Trinsic can return the person's full name, date of birth, sex, address details (city, subdivision, postal code, and country, with street lines when available), the document number, and a document portrait image.

How does verifying with DigiLocker work?
A person logs into DigiLocker using their phone number, PIN, and a one-time passcode, consents to share their data with the relying party, and is then redirected back to your application with the results. The login and authentication options are controlled by DigiLocker itself.

Do I need permission to use DigiLocker with Trinsic?
Yes. DigiLocker requires permission before it can be activated for your users, so you contact Trinsic for access. It currently supports e-Aadhaar, and people without an existing account can create one during the flow.
