What is Smart-ID?
Smart-ID is an eID app that delivers a trusted LOA3 identity through a mobile app secured with a two-step PIN or biometrics. Trinsic integrates it so businesses can verify a user's identity.

Which countries does Smart-ID support?
Smart-ID supports Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, and Lithuania.

What can you verify with Smart-ID?
Smart-ID returns given name, family name, document type, and issuing country, with full name, date of birth, and sex available in some cases. Date of birth is not provided for Latvian IDs issued after July 2017, and sex is not available for Latvia.

How does verifying with Smart-ID work?
The user launches the widget or the provider directly and enters their document credentials, authenticating in the Smart-ID app with a two-step PIN or biometrics. Results arrive asynchronously via polling.
