EUDI Wallet

EUDI Wallet readiness in Germany

Germany is developing d-you, its state EUDI wallet, for an early-2027 launch. Around 40 launch partners are planned. The existing Germany EUDI sandbox is a separate test environment: access requires organisation and use-case review followed by onboarding, and does not confer production access to d-you.

The proposed DIdG framework and EUDI Hub define a future relying-party registration and certificate route, with BVA’s role still proposed. National certification arrangements and staged security assessments are in preparation; recognition of compliant independent wallets is planned after the state launch. GBG has reported possible foreign-relying-party restrictions at launch, so cross-border access remains a material question rather than an established capability.
