EUDI Wallet
EUDI Wallet readiness in Italy
Italy’s public IT-Wallet is already represented in app IO through Documenti su IO, available to all users since December 2024 for driving licence, health and disability documents. The domestic service is live, while its EUDI alignment and certification follow a separate track. Private operators can request entry to the IT-Wallet test environment through IPZS.
AgID handles administrative registration and IPZS the register and trust infrastructure, with technical federation onboarding documented. These arrangements do not yet establish general operational EUDI relying-party admission. The framework allows private wallets subject to accreditation, with detailed implementing rules still pending; the evidence does not establish a published wallet-certification scheme or a wallet assessment already under way.
