What is MitID?
MitID is Denmark's digital identity system for securely accessing public and private services, introduced as the successor to NemID. It lets Danish citizens and residents access banking, government services, and other online applications.

Which countries can use MitID?
MitID covers Denmark, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland. It is an app-based electronic ID.

What information can you verify with MitID?
Verifying with MitID through Trinsic always returns the person's full name, and may also return their date of birth when available.

Do I need permission to use MitID with Trinsic?
Yes. MitID requires registration before it can be activated for your users, so you contact the Trinsic team. It can also be configured to support the Danish CPR (ID number) flow, and user ID collection must happen within the MitID interface rather than externally.
